Mud Run - February 21-22, Mendocino National Forest, CA
Plans for this years Mud Run are shaping up!
With the demise of access to the back road from Willits to Ft. Bragg
NCRC has used in the past for our annual Mud Run we've been trying to locate a similarly challenging route.
The current plan is to travel from Cedar Camp in the Mendocino National Forest to
Ukiah, through Mendoncino National Forest. Given the muddy nature of the
western side of the forest and the potential for swollen streams this
should prove sufficiently challenging. As with all Mud Runs it could
take some time or we might even have to turn back; on the other hand it
could degenerate into a dust run of a mere day.
The date is currently set for the weekend of February 21-22 leaving
Cedar camp at 10am on Saturday morning. Participant's should have safe
vehicles and be prepared to sign the club waiver. Beyond the usual you
should have appropriate tires, secure recovery points and recovery gear,
ideally a winch.
Given the nature of the trip some damage may not be ruled out.
More updates will follow.
