We'll lunch along the way with stops at Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, Ocean Beach, and many other places! *Leave Emeryville 9am sharp *Drive across Bay Bridge *Visit Treasure Island *Drive up California Street through downtown *Drive down Lombard Street *Visit The British Consule Residence *Drive through the Marina *Visit Fort Point *Lunch at Crissy Field in the Presidio (byo food, or nice park cafe is available for decent lunch) *Drive through the Presidio *Drive through Sea Cliff *Drive past The Palace of Legion of Honor *Visit Sutro Bath ruins *Drive past Cliff House *Drive through Golden Gate Park *Drive across Golden Gate Bridge *Drive into the Marin Headlands *Drive down the backside of the Marin Headlands *Visit military ruins *Visit Rodeo Beach *Dinner in Sausalito?? Total route equals about 45 miles. Total time will depend but we should finish about 4pm at Rodeo Beach. Directions to initial meeting location: We'll be meeting at 8:30am in the large empty parking lot for Expo Design Center at the corner of 40th and Hubbard Street, very near the large Ikea in Emeryville. Best bet is to get off Hwy 80 at the Powell Street exit going towards the East Bay Hills. Stay on Powell Street past the main shopping intersection in downtown Emeryville until you go over a bridge (over a railway) and get to Hollis Street. A gas station (I believe Chevron) is on the right side of the street at the corner of Powel and Hollis. Take a right on Hollis Street and continue all the way on Hollis to 40th Street. At the corner of 40th and Hollis Street turn right again. Go three blocks until you see the large Expo Design Center parking lot on the left side. If you go over another bridge towards Ikea you've gone to far. If you have problems with directions of have further questions please call me on my cell phone 415-559-0359! We'll be leaving promtly at 9:00am so please be on time! Everyone needs to sign a waiver before we leave and I need to check your hand break and ask you a few questions. We have purchased large SF city maps with the route we will take clearly marked for those that would like to have one in case our vehicles get seperated in traffic. We ask for a 4 dollar donation for each map if possible. Also, please plan for the $2 toll going across the Bay Bridge at the start of the route.
